Top Tips from SKOPE
Home / Inspiration / Insights
We design SKOPE refrigeration to provide many years of uninterrupted performance. However, even a SKOPE product can be subject to the rigours of time and lack of care. Just like everything you purchase and own, it is important to keep up with cleaning and maintenance to avoid disappointment, for example, if you were to purchase a brand new car and did not service this on a regular basis, the car would end up failing on you.
We know refrigeration plays an integral part of your business performance, and any down time can be detrimental to your establishment, which is why the correct setup, positioning, cleaning, maintenance of your fridge and freezer cabinets is essential to getting the most from your refrigeration. Regular maintenance also reduces energy consumption which is good news for your power bill. Lack of maintenance can also lead to complications with your warranty cover so it is important to follow our manufacturers guidelines for how to care for your SKOPE products.
In this article we will give you tips on how to inspect and clean your SKOPE fridge or freezer cabinet. If your cabinet is not correctly cleaned, dust can build up around the condenser which means it will have to work harder to keep the temperature down. Eventually it will be overworked and unable to provide the suitable temperature for your products putting food safety at risk. For the best results and to minimise power consumption, SKOPE recommends you clean your condenser every month.
The image below shows the different alarm codes that may start flashing on your controller indicating the condenser of your cabinet is overworked and requires cleaning. If you see this warning you should clean the condenser immediately.
For more information on the cleaning required, please see the service manual specific to each product.

“A wine shop wanted to offer deli food like: salami and cheese but didn’t want to buy fridges, in case it wasn’t a good return on investment. They started with renting one Open Deck display fridge which proved to be a hit. They then decided to rent at multiple locations. Knowing that they could simply return at any time if sales didn’t warrant it or move fridges to different locations gave them peace of mind.”
